In October of 2009, Vincennes University broke ground on a Fort Branch campus to help offer advanced manufacturing education to this area. This was largely because the Gibson County area had experienced the diversifying of manufacturing in the area. Courses offered at the new campus include Computer Integrated Technologies & Manufacturing Programs, 21st Century Logistics & Distribution and Robotics, to name a few. Of course, students may still choose other programs on the main campus or online school.
The rest of the catalog is made up of Biomedical Technology, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Computer Networking, Computer Numeric Control, Drafting & Design, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Trades: Tools & Die, Medical Records/Allied Health, Network Administration, Webmaster and Welding Computer Programming. While many of these courses may sound very similar in nature, the amount of specialized training received at the Vincennes Fort Branch campus will help prepare area men and women for success in a changing job market.
