Southwest Minnesota State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities System, typically enrols around 3,500 to 4,000 students in the small town of Marshall. Students attending the University pays a .43 cent per credit rate to help fund the Minnesota State University Student Association - a specialized, student lead non-profit agency that acts on behalf of all state university students in Minnesota.
